Richard Salsman’s (Ayn) Rand Camp

Posted on March 24, 2020January 28, 2022 by Carl Barney

I was delighted to host Richard Salsman and his wife, Lisa, at my home last weekend. Richard is a professor of the Politics, Philosophy, and Economics Department at Duke University. We had lovely meals together, and one evening we were joined by Alex Epstein.

I’m happy to announce that Prometheus Foundation will be sponsoring an intensive, week-long, invitation-only “Rand Camp” dedicated to the study of Ayn Rand’s philosophy and politics, and their relationship to economics. Professor Salsman, along with his esteemed colleague, Michael Munger, will host this event.

In May 2020, a dozen professors and graduate students in these fields will gather at a gorgeous Utah resort to share ideas, engage with active-minded attendees, and enjoy the beautiful desert scenery. Other organizations have sponsored liberty-themed camps dedicated to examining the ideas of such prominent thinkers as Adam Smith and James Buchanan, but never before has one been organized to focus exclusively on Rand. Prometheus Foundation is especially excited to promote this event.
