Category: Center for Excellence in Higher Education
The Center for Excellence in Higher Education (CEHE) was established in 2006 by a small group of philanthropists who have donated millions of dollars to U.S. colleges and universities and were concerned about the growing challenges facing higher education in America. Its original purpose was to educate the public about the state of higher education in America and help donors promote excellence in higher education through philanthropy.
From 2007 to 2012, CEHE a 501(c)(3) organization operated as a public charity. It conducted a series of research programs and supported faculty interested in improving higher education at universities around the country and internationally. CEHE also engaged in several important research projects, acting in the background to help philanthropists who wanted to promote structural reform of higher education more generally.
In 2012, I merged my colleges, CollegeAmerica, Stevens-Henager College, and California College San Diego, into a 501(c)(3) education organization, CEHE.
CEHE continues to work to make improvements in delivery methods and content in higher education, but rather than focusing that work simply on advocating for change, CEHE, through its colleges, is actively involved in providing educational opportunities to the thousands of students it now serves.

The Killing of CollegeAmerica and CEHE
(This post follows my earlier post: “Persecution: Prosecutorial Abuse in Colorado.” It provides a lot more detail for those interested—those in the career college sector, and the former employees of CEHE. Feel free to share this. Others can safely ignore this unless you want to read a horror story of government corruption.) The Wall Street…
Persecution: Prosecutorial Abuse in Colorado
(This post is intended for those in the career college sector and for the former employees of CollegeAmerica and the Center for Excellence in Higher Education. This is an update. Others can safely skip this post. Feel free to share this.) Former Colorado Assistant Attorney General, Olivia “Libby” DeBlasio-Webster, is a far-left political activist now…
Fighting Back against Oppression
(This is mostly for people who have been following the assault on my colleges and Independence University by the Colorado AG and the Department of Education. Feel free to disregard….) My colleges and Independence University—built over several decades into a student-oriented, high-quality, results-focused institution—were callously destroyed by the Department of Education on the basis of…
Disgraced and Discredited Judge Buchanan
As you can read in my earlier blog posts—Judging Judges, A Bittersweet Legal Victory, and Honor and Dishonor—Judge Ross Buchanan was derelict in his duties, failing to rule in a timely fashion on a really important issue affecting many thousands of people, including students, faculty, and staff of CollegeAmerica and Center for Excellence in Higher…
The Washington Times Editorial
The Washington Times published the editorial: Private career colleges are being destroyed. A few bad actors—predators in government—are committed to destroying private colleges. We intend to hold those responsible accountable. More to come. (If you read comments to The Washington Times article, please know many are written by paid trolls recruited to defame me personally…
Libby DeBlasio Webster’s Career of Destruction Exposed
Olivia (“Libby”) DeBlasio Webster is a far-left predatory political activist who has worked behind the scenes as an Assistant AG in Colorado, using the power and prestige of the AG’s office to attack private career colleges. Her mission and career, guided by political animus, have demonstrated a desire to harass, intimidate, and retaliate against private…
Lawsuits, Lessons Learned
I’m writing this to clarify my thinking about lawsuits, to identify the lessons I’ve learned, and for those who may be concerned/interested. My first forays into the legal system were wretched. I didn’t understand the process, I didn’t know what to do, and I lost as much as I won. In desperation, I started to…
Honor and Dishonor
Judges are guardians of the rule of law. They are a bulwark against tyranny and injustice, and consequently, against social collapse. Judges are granted the honorific, “The Honorable Judge.” Being appointed to a judgeship is a sacred honor. When a judge dishonors his position of honor, it is an egregious betrayal of trust. Judge Ross…
Students’ Tragedy
A college abruptly closes, its former students out on the street—literally, in some cases. This may sound like a sad story, but let me assure you that it’s more than sad—it’s truly a tragedy. Most students are not safe and secure in good jobs. They are living paycheck to paycheck, struggling to make ends meet….
