There are many small business owners and entrepreneurs who may be wishing they were dead. Their businesses are being ruined and their lives destroyed.
The political lockdowns (not the virus) have hit black business owners hardest: 41% are no longer in business according to an analysis by the National Bureau of Economic Research. The total number of American businesses still in business has plummeted from 15 million to 11.7 million as of April 2020 (and we still don’t have May and June’s figures yet, which are likely to be much worse). That’s a drop of 22%.
Many of our noble, all-knowing politicians and medical experts, who are “dedicated to saving lives,” are instead destroying livelihoods and lives. This is resulting in alcoholism, drug addiction, destitution, and a surge in suicides, which could rival or exceed the number of deaths from the virus.
