If we wish to live long and enjoy being alive, an effective exercise plan is critical—it is sine qua non. “If exercise were a drug, it would be the best drug we have for preventing heart disease, dementia, osteoporosis, depression, diabetes, and obesity, said James O’Keefe, MD on Peter Attia’s podcast. On the same podcast, Layne Norton said, “Exercise is almost like a vaccine… the best drug we have… we will [n]ever be able to develop a drug that is [this] remarkable. It is simply unbelievable what it can do.”
I have an exercise plan which includes cardio, tennis, weight/resistance training, intense isometric workouts, and stretching. This is not an aggressive program—about 6 hours a week—but it is sufficient for me to maintain health and fitness.
I want to recommend Chad Morris, who coaches me on intense isometrics once a week for 30 minutes. I’ve had about a dozen personal trainers, but Chad stands out for his calm competence and his efficient and effective 30-minute Zoom workouts. After 30 minutes, I feel as if I’ve worked out for an hour; his method impacts me as no other does. He is an extraordinary coach. Contact him at https://www.myogenicsfitness.com/contact/
I just purchased a Tonal exercise machine. It allows for over 100 different exercises and uses artificial intelligence to monitor progress. I expect to receive delivery in a few months, and if you’re interested I will report back on it. I think it will do a lot of work in a small space.
I enjoy your comments, feedback, and suggestions.
Lois and I are now living at Revel Rancharrah in Reno. In our “Refined Retirement Community”(that’s what it is painted on the sides of our forest green Mercedes-Benz bumpy-riding 10-passenger bus). RR has a 30-by-30 gym where she and I exercise for about 50 minutes each time on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. We also have lots of 19-step flights of stairs to climb 5 to 10 times a day, usually 6 times. On non-gym days we walk outdoors. Still not enough.
Interesting a encouraging. I agree wholeheartedly!
Please report back on your Tonal exercise machine experience.
