Whenever a doctor recommends a medication or supplement, I ask Dr. Google about side effects before taking them. Usually, there’s a long and frightening list. Side effects are tricky….
Some things have horrible side effects, such as partying and overindulging in food and booze that leads to a hangover the next day. Overeating—we eat the whole pizza or the whole pint of ice cream…. Lack of sleep can have serious side effects, including falling asleep while driving (a common cause of auto accidents). Exercise has the side effects of soreness, tiredness, exhaustion, and possibly torn muscles, tendons, and ligaments.
Side effects need to be taken seriously.
I asked my doctor about it. She told me that many side effects are listed solely to cover drug companies against legal liability—they throw in everything, no matter what. She said the average number of side effects is about 70.
So, it’s not easy, but, somehow, we have to figure it out and carefully monitor our body and our mind when starting a new supplement or medication.

You nailed it on this Carl. Last year I became very I’ll. Doctors told me it was in my mind, almost had me convinced. I was so off I took what ever medication they would prescribe and after looking at side affects I stopped all of them. Finally I found a doctor who realized I had an infection out of control and put me on antibiotics infusions for over three months which finally killed the infection but also killed all my good bacteria. It’s taken me a year to get back to normal snd get into the gym. We need to take responsibility for our bodies and not just except a doctor’s prognosis. I learned a great lesson and will never let a doctor brush off my symptoms, give me medication without researching it or diagnose a disease without getting other opinions. My greatest allies became the pharmacist who warned me of the medications and told me to question the doctor before moving forward.
