In this post, I wrote that the video of Jordan Peterson at OCON 2018 had only 30,000 views on ARI’s YouTube channel. A reader informed me that the video is also posted on Dave Rubin’s channel and that it has 288,000 views there. The reader also pointed out that Peterson was onstage for 100 minutes, not one hour.
The reader objected to me mentioning the fact that that ARI paid Jordan Peterson to appear. This fact is relevant because some at ARI have criticized Craig and his Objective Institute Standard for making a payment to PragerU.
Other things being equal, I see no problem with either ARI paying Peterson to appear or OSI paying PragerU for CB’s appearance.
Dan, I agree with you. The idea that someone at ARI complained about the appearance of Dr. Jordan Peterson at OCON being paid for is indeed strange. Dr. Peterson earned the money, I bet. Do you suppose this is now ARI policy, no payment for OCON speakers? Has this been the practice since 1983? No “filthy lucre?” Shocking. This would be a good topic at morning coffee at TOS-CON in Newton-Boston later this month.
