A WSJ headline today reads: “Virus Cases Soaring Past 3 Million” (there were about 40 million cases of flu last year). But what counts as a case?
One of my personal trainers tested positive for COVID but had zero symptoms, not even a sniffle. His girlfriend and another trainer they work with both got tested as well. Both tested positive but had no symptoms whatsoever. Are these “cases” of COVID?
There has been a massive and rapid expansion of testing across the country. But it shouldn’t come as a surprise that, if you go looking for something, you’ll find it. Most of these cases have no symptoms whatsoever.
These new minor or asymptomatic cases are being reported at much higher rates than are new cases which result in fatalities—which suggests that the virus is much less dangerous than we were initially told. Scaremongering and its subsequent hysteria are, in my view, unconscionable. When will it end?
